TripPlanWise Editorial Policy
How TripPlanWise creates, reviews, updates, and corrects travel tools and source-based guidance.
Last reviewed:
Ownership and editorial responsibility
TripPlanWise is operated by Matthan Cheong, who is responsible for the site's published pages, tool descriptions, policies, and correction process. Each page should solve a specific travel-planning problem instead of repeating a broad keyword theme.
Original content process
Pages are built from a defined user task, such as estimating a trip budget, preparing baggage questions, organizing disruption evidence, or checking an AI itinerary. Original value comes from calculator logic, structured inputs, decision tables, checklists, worked examples, and verification steps.
TripPlanWise does not copy competitor articles, publish fake testimonials, or present scraped provider text as original work.
Calculator assumptions
Calculator outputs come from user-entered values, visible defaults, and stated formulas. Currency conversion may use a recent reference-rate provider when available, but bank, card, cash-exchange, tax, and provider charges can differ. A calculated result is a planning estimate, not a quote or financial recommendation.
AI assistance and human review
AI may assist with outlining, formatting, prompt testing, or quality checks. It is not treated as a source for live rules, prices, schedules, safety conditions, or availability. Before publication, pages are reviewed by the operator for purpose, clarity, unsupported claims, duplicated sections, working controls, and appropriate source reminders.
Sources, updates, and volatile facts
Official authorities and responsible providers are preferred for facts that affect money, access, legal rights, baggage, transport, or safety. A visible review date records a meaningful page review; it does not guarantee that an external fact remains unchanged afterward.
Commercial independence
Paid relationships do not control an editorial ranking or factual conclusion. If sponsored, affiliate, or paid placement is introduced, it should be clearly disclosed. TripPlanWise does not currently use payment as an undisclosed reason to call one travel option the best.
Corrections
Correction reports should identify the page, issue, and supporting source. Material factual or tool issues are reviewed under the Correction Policy. Safety-sensitive, official-rule, and decision-changing errors receive priority.
